The origin of the symbol of the Yorkshire Rose is somewhat uncertain.
It is thought to have been adopted by the first Duke of York in the 14th century.
The residents of 'God's Own County' are fiercely proud of their roots and Bradfordians are staunch Yorkshire folk.
The Yorkshire Rose is incorporated in several badges.
