Legend has it that during the 14th century a wild boar lived in Cliffe Wood Bradford.
The aggresive beast terrorized the local population and caused alot of damage to land and property.
The Lord Mayor offered a reward if anyone could slay the beast.
John Northrop killed the boar with a bow and arrow and claimed the reward.
The boar was subsequently incorporated into the Bradford coat of arms.
The vast majority of badges feature the boars head with Claret and amber. I am unsure where the back & white scheme comes from. One of the black & gold badges is a limited edition fundraising memorial badge to commemorate the Bradford fire.
