Bradford City Boar’s Head Badges
Bradford City Boar’s Head Badges
The Bradford Boar has been synonymous with Bradford since the 14th century. Legend has it, that a local wild boar rampaged through Cliffe Wood but was subsequently slain by a young local hunter called John Northrop. The boar’s head has been part of Bradford’s coat of arms for a significant period and this coat of arms was synonymous with Bradford City until the mid 1960s. Thereafter the boar’s head was used as the Bradford City logo from the late 1960s until the mid 1970s and then revived again in 1985.
